TOSL Engineering Limited receives its STOW Certification
In mid-2010, TOSL Engineering Limited (TOSL) began its pursuit to acquire the Safe to Work (STOW) certification. It was a long and challenging process, but with the involvement, dedication and participation of all Staff, we at TOSL were able to demonstrate our commitment to ensuring that our work was conducted in a safe and healthy environment.
Having gone through a very methodical and detailed audit process in December 2010, on January 14, 2011 we were granted certification at the High Risk Level based on the approval of the STOW Board.
The Board of Directors at TOSL would like to acknowledge all who were involved in this process especially the Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality (HSSEQ) Department; HSE Committee Members; Managers; Supervisors; Workshop/Warehouse Personnel; and its external HSE Consultant.
In the words of TOSL’s CEO, Mr. Shazan Ali, “We are confident that as the bar is raised in terms of HSSEQ compliance and competency that this will allow us to grasp more of the available opportunities. We continue to try and position the TOSL Organization, in the words of Edward de Bono, the leading authority in the world in the field of creative thinking and the originator of the concept of “lateral thinking” in the position of “surpetition” i.e. way above the competition in order to differentiate TOSL Engineering Limited from other Service Providers in Trinidad & Tobago, the Caribbean and beyond. This is an exciting time for us. We are prepared and look forward with confidence to a new and different 2011 where competence and execution shall be the order of the day.”

TOSL wins Couva/Pt. Lisas Chamber Award
On November 25, 2006 the Couva / Point Lisas Chamber of Commerce held its Awards Ceremony for which TOSL was invited to participate by submitting a short write-up on our achievements.
We were successful on this night as we won the 2006 Company of the Year award in the Services Category for Mid-Sized Companies. The recipient in the large category was Phoenix Park and Sant's Equipment won in the small category.
The receipt of this award is another indication of our vision and one for which we are proud.

TOSL wins 2005 Excellence in Quality Award
In August 2005, TOSL made the decision to enter the 3rd Annual Excellence in Business Awards in the category of Quality. This competition, which is jointly hosted by the Business Development Company Limited and Republic Bank Limited, invites businesses in Trinidad and Tobago to vie for the esteemed Excellence Awards in various categories.
After successfully passing the initial stages that involved completion of a detailed questionnaire and an interview, TOSL was selected as one of the six (6) finalists with the winning results announced at an Awards Ceremony on October 18, 2005.
This Award to TOSL is an indication that we have done an excellent job in having the right people within the Organization and the continued efforts of all of our HSEQ Team Members, both past and present, have been duly recognized by way of receipt of this award.
The die has been cast, we have raised the bar and we will continue to improve, innovate and set new and higher standards, so that others can follow Our Lead. The Vision for TOSL is alive “To be Best in Class Engineering Company in Trinidad and Tobago and to hold our own amongst Engineering Companies operating in a First World Environment.”
The journey of a thousand steps has now begun with this first step - the receipt of this Award for Quality in 2005.
