CEO's Message

TOSL's Ethics Guide for its Stakeholders

As we continue to develop a distinct TOSL culture that reflects the way we do business, interact with each other and with our external publics, inclusive of our customers, our contractors, our consultants and suppliers, ethical considerations and ethical conduct as well as our ability to live our corporate values would come under increasing scrutiny. As an organization committed to longevity, to developing a global brand and being the "best" at what we do, as an organization striving for technological, corporate and personal excellence, it is imperative that we establish ourselves as leaders amongst our corporate peers in the way we make our business and personal transactions a living example of the ethics and values we espouse. This is our leadership challenge. At TOSL, we place a very high value on personal and corporate integrity, mutual respect, honesty and fairness in the conduct of our affairs, both amongst ourselves and between ourselves and our suppliers, our customers, our contractors, our consultants and regulatory authorities. In the long term our business will be sustainable because of the perceived integrity of TOSL by the general public. We aim to be a role model in ethical behaviour and business practices, nurturing a culture of integrity, openness and inclusion.

In particular, I would like to emphasize that in the pursuit of our ethical goals, we would be placing emphasis on the following:

  • Our contribution to society and human well being by protecting fundamental human rights, by respecting and valuing diversity, and by contributing to a safe work and natural environment
  • Honesty and trustworthiness. We must be honest in our dealings with our customers and between ourselves. We must honor our promises.
  • Fairness and the avoidance of discrimination in all its forms. TOSL must be seen as an organization that promotes justice and equality. Discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, age, disability and national origin will not be tolerated.
  • Honoring confidentiality
  • Living healthy lifestyles, particularly avoiding the abuse of any forms of alcohol and drugs.
  • Avoiding the use of bribes and gifts, whether by giving or by receiving as a reward for getting business.

In giving life to our ethical values, TOSL will apply strict disciplinary measures and would not compromise such measures since the image of our organization depends on the ethical conduct of every employee of TOSL.

I invite you to join me in this journey upon which we have embarked to create a culture of excellence through value based leadership at all levels of functioning at TOSL. This is also a test of our capacity for teamwork.
